Lake Area Ministries

Lake Area Ministries, Inc. (LAM) is a non-profit, non-denominational, faith based organization that has served the people of our community for the past 17 years.  Our primary mission is to serve as a Food Pantry in our Service Area, which includes parts of Clay, Bradford, Putnam, and Alachua Counties. The Boundaries are set in accordance with the school districts.  We work in conjunction with the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), and use their criteria to determine elgibility as set by Federal guidelines.  We provide services regardless of race, religion, gender, age, disabilities or national origin.

 

Our primary funding comes from people like you,  many of our local churches and other private donations.  While our primary focus is to provide food to families, we at LAM do so much more for the people in our community, like helping with medications, counseling, buying school supplies for needy children and when no other agency funds are available we help pay rent and/or utility bills in emergency situations.  We also assist in providing other neccessities that so many people take for granted on a daily basis.

  Hours: Monday-Friday 10:00AM-2:00PM except holidays
